Good day all,


At the last Indivisible DeSoto MS meeting, I volunteered to facilitate our letter writing initiative.  This message is to set some guidelines around how this will work. 


After thinking about the subject matter, I decided to offer two letters per week.  One will be on Impeachment and the second will be written about issues that concern our members. 


For the second letter, I will need your help.  Please send to me a policy or legislation or concern that you would like our representatives to hear about from us. I will keep a list and will write about a subject on a first in/first out basis.  I will also show priority to a subject that is worrisome to more than a person or two


Now,  how are you going to use the letters I send to you?  You can simply copy and paste a whole letter or portions of a letter.  You can add your own voice to what I’ve written by editing the offered letter. Whatever works for you. 


Since these letters will be intended for the Senate and House, you can send your letters through Wicker’s and Hyde-Smith’s websites and the website for your personal Representative.  Or, if you prefer, print and mail. 


When responding to me please put “Letter Committee” in the subject line. My email address for this project is:

It is important to either use this address or reply to a group message from me so I will see your message.  There are too many emails in my Gmail account and I may miss something from you. 


And one last thing: Once you send a letter to an elected official, please let me know by sending an email to me that would look like this:


Wicker: SCOTUS (1)

Hyde-Smith: Military (1)

Kelly: Medicare (1)

Thompson: Impeachment (1)


We are only interested in numbers and subject matter not member names.

28 Jul 2025 Letter 1: Subject: Impeachment At a recent Town Hall, we were told: “Impeachment is not the answer”.  So, what is the answer? I beg to differ. Impeachment is the only answer. Our Constitution provides this remedy to remove an elected official for “high crimes and misdemeanors”. We cannot wait for the next election. By then, our democracy will be in shambles.  (For Representatives :  recognize the votes are not presently favorable to pass Articles of Impeachment.  However, we need to know and the world needs to see that a good portion of America will not tolerate an unlawful President.) Letter #1:  Impeachment/Removal of the President  By KJ & BT The U.S. Constitution, in Article VI, mandates that all federal officials be bound by oath or affirmation to support our Constitution. The core of the oath of office is a pledge to support and defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.  Donald Trump needs to be removed from office either by Impeachment or the 25th Amendment.
