Dear Xxxxxx:
Thank you for your recent correspondence regarding voting rights.
The John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act of 2025 seeks to update the preclearance provision in Section 4 of the Voting Rights Act. This legislation was introduced on March 5, 2025 , and referred to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, where it awaits further action. Should this legislation come before the Senate, I will keep your thoughts in mind.
It is a great privilege to represent the people of Mississippi, and I will always strive to justify the confidence that has been placed in me as your United States Senator.
Having the benefit of your views is important to me. I appreciate your taking the time to write
Sincerely,
CINDY HYDE-SMITH
United States Senator
CHS/RR

Apparently, the good Senator would like us to believe she supports protecting our votes. The record shows this not to be true.
