(Form Letter Rebuttal)

Several of our member received the same form letter.  My edits are in red and they are going right back to Wicker.

Dear Senator Wicker:

Below please find a copy of the form letter your office is sending to your constituents.  You will find our remarks to your form letter in double parentheses.

Senator, you need to change your position on more than a few issues facing the people of Mississippi.  We deserve better than what you are offering.

 Dear…….:

Thank you for contacting me to express your views on the United States and Israel’s campaign against Iran.  I am glad to have the benefit of your views on this issue.

President Trump took decisive action to confront the threat posed by the world’s leading state sponsor of terrorism, the Iranian regime.  ((This is not true.)) This operation represents a necessary step to protect Americans and safeguard our national interests.  ((This is not true.  This is a war of choice without consent from Congress.)) The president has stated the operation’s goals clearly: thwart permanently the regime’s desire to create a nuclear weapon, degrade their ballistic missile force and their production capacity, and destroy their naval and terrorism capabilities. ((This is not true.  Goals and outcomes were not made public or discussed with Congress before this war was started.))

President Trump gave Ayatollah Khamenei every chance to negotiate peacefully.  The Iranian leader, however, rejected President Trump’s entreaties.  ((Absolutely not true.)) He chose to continue enriching uranium in pursuit of a nuclear weapon and supporting terrorism rather than a peaceful resolution that would have benefited the Iranian people.  ((Not true.  45 tore up the Obama deal and 47 started a war about the “deal” 45 tore up.)) The regime’s problems were entirely of its own making.

Without the use of military force against Iran, the Ayatollah’s ability to threaten America’s and our interest would simply continue to grow, working in concert with the Chinese Communist Party, the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, North Korea, and its terrorist allies. The Ayatollah mortgaged the economic future of ordinary Iranians to engage in his obsessive and apocalyptic vision. ((Republican talking points to justify the actions of the criminal in the White House.))

Most importantly, I commend the brave men and women of our armed forces, who continue to demonstrate a level of operational proficiency unrivaled the world over. Thanks to them, Americans are safer – not just today, but for generations to come. ((You disrespect every service member by sending them into harms way without goals and objectives.

Further, many of us saw your online video that started by thanking our military.  Then you went on to say a bunch of mumbo jumbo to justify your lack of a spine to stand up to 47 and tell him NO!

And about the Major Richard Star Act: this act  would allow combat injured veterans to receive their full military retirement and their VA disability payments…but you argued it was too expensive at an estimate of $9-10 billion. And yet we understand that the first 11 days of 47’s illegal war cost the American taxpayers $11 billion.

Senator Wicker, you cannot justify much of what you say on so many issues.  Mississippi deserves a more astute and truthful Senator.))

Be assured I will keep your comments in mind as the Senate considers further military action or humanitarian aid.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of assistance.

With best wishes, I am

Sincerely yours,
Roger

My reply to the above letter:

Today I received yet another form letter from your office. The letter I received is identical to the letter you sent last month on the same subject.

My response to you last month contains the same objections I have this month.

Senator Wicker, you are not doing the job that is needed by our country.  Sending form letters is not only offensive, it cannot be a substitute for doing your job.

This administration is corrupt and Mississippians know it. We know you voted to confirm this cabinet. It seems every 24 hours another cabinet member is fired.  You are complicit with this corrupt administration because you are not standing up for what it right.

Had you voted to Impeach Trump you would have saved our country from this chaos.  You didn’t do your job then and you are not doing your job now.
