Reply from Hyde-Smith
If this wasn’t such a terrible situation, it would be laughable. The last letter I received from this Senator was posted on 6 March on this blog.
At the beginning of the post I wrote something about what I thought the good Senator was replying to. This new reply begins with a sentence identifying the subject. Note this sentence is in a different font and size than the rest of the letter. Is her staff reading our blog?
So, here’s her reply to the Trump Illegal War. Disgusting.

Dear Ms. T****:
Thank you for your recent correspondence regarding Iran.
On March 1, 2026, the armed forces of the State of Israel and the United States launched Operation Epic Fury against the Islamic Republic of Iran. President Trump is acting decisively to confront the Iranian regime, a leading state sponsor of global terrorism and a grave threat to the national security interests of the United States and our strategic interests in the region. I voted against a resolution to limit further U.S. military action in Iran because President Trump, like presidents before him, has the authority under the War Powers Act of 1973 to take military action to address threats to our nation. In this case, President Trump is taking decisive steps to eliminate the Islamic Republic of Iran’s decades-long campaign of deadly attacks against Americans, our national interests, and global security.
We ask God to protect all of our heroes in harm’s way. And we trust that with His help, the men and women of the armed forces will prevail.
It is a great privilege to represent the people of Mississippi, and I will always strive to justify the confidence that has been placed in me as your United States Senator.
Having the benefit of your views is important to me. I appreciate your taking the time to write.
Sincerely,
CINDY HYDE-SMITH
United States Senator
CHS/DB
