Letter #1 by MF (EPA)
Once again, the Trump administration is ignoring science and threatening the health of Americans. This time it's about allowing coal plants to pollute our air.
Regulations designed to limit dangerous emissions are being rolled back at the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Greater amounts of toxins, like mercury and lead, are being released into the atmosphere. These heavy metals are known to cause neurological damage in adults and babies. Burning coal also discharges greenhouse gases which fuel climate change.
There are alternative power producers, like wind and solar, that can generate the electricity we need without damaging our health or contributing to global warming.
The government should be protecting its citizens not promoting coal. I urge you to consider these issues when they come to Congress.
Sincerely,
