Indivisible DeSoto MS will hold a What’s Happening in America Town Hall on Saturday, January 31, 2026. The Town Hall will be held at the Northwest Community College Ranger Center located at 1218 Church Road West in Southaven, MS.  The doors will open at 10:30 a.m. with the event starting promptly at 11a.m.


Our speakers will be:


Joanne Irene Gabrynowicz, Esq: 

     Professor of Law, Emerita. 

     Professor Gabrynowicz will speak about 

     the crimes committed by the current 

     administration.

Jarvis Dortch: 

     Executive Director at the ACLU of MS. 

     Executive Director Dortch will speak about the 

     deterioration of our civil rights.

Jamie Barnett: 

     Rear Admiral US Navy (Retired). 

     Rear Admiral Barnett will speak about national 

     security.


Following the Town Hall program, there will be a reception for Democratic Candidate for United States Senate, Scott Colom and Democratic Candidate for United States House of Representatives District 1, (James) Cliff Johnson.   Both candidates have been endorsed by Indivisible DeSoto MS.

This is a letter we received to protest the outrageous school choice legislation.  Please take the time to send your letter to Speaker Jason White and please let me know you’ve taken action.  jwhite@house.ms.gov August 25, 2025   Jason White, Speaker Mississippi House of Representatives 400 High Street Jackson, MS 39201 VIA HAND DELIVERY   Dear  Speaker  White:   I write to express my disapproval  of any legislation that would  use Mississippi taxpayer dollars to fund private schools.   Among my concerns about any  prospective  “school choice” bill are the following:   ▪  Transferring taxpayer dollars from public to private schools will only reverse the educational gains reflected in the “Mississippi Miracle . ”   To argue that “school choice” would improve upon these  remarkable outcomes seems counterintuitive at best, and disingenuous at worst  ( see  https://www.ncpecoalition.org/vouc...

Letter #1:  Impeachment/Removal of the President  By KJ & BT The U.S. Constitution, in Article VI, mandates that all federal officials be bound by oath or affirmation to support our Constitution. The core of the oath of office is a pledge to support and defend the U.S. Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.  Donald Trump needs to be removed from office either by Impeachment or the 25th Amendment. Clearly, Trump is not mentally capable of performing the duties of the President of the United States.   There is never a wrong time to do the right thing.  The time is now.
