Letter #1 by MC (Living Wage)
Congressman Trent Kelly
2243 Rayburn House Office Building
Washinton, DC 20515
Dear Representative,
I'm concerned about income inequality and workers rights. CEO's make $300 to every dollar workers make and many make much more than that eg., in one case 7,000 times more. Many workers struggle to support their families. Sometimes holding 2-3 part-time jobs because employers keep hours to the level not to pay benefits. In some cases like Warren Buffet CEO's pay taxes that are less than their workers, a lot less. Corporate greed is at an all time high and they stand to benefit most from the Big (not so) Beautiful Bill.
More American workers were laid off last month than any month since the pandemic. More than 300,000 federal workers will have lost their jobs by the end of 2025 and more firings are planned. A large number of laid off workers are from minority groups. Veterans who fought for our country have been fired without cause. Veterans like Shernice Mundell. Who served this country in the Air Force and kept serving in our goverment for years to make sure retired postal workers got their benefits. Until one night at 11 pm an email told her she was fired. How sad. How will these families survive? How will a worker making $19,000 per year make it?
Workers need respect, a living wage and not to live in fear of being fired. Unions are one way to even the playing field to speakup and fight for workers rights. Consider two things:
1) Stop the goverment from firing workers who support the Unions and those let go without cause.
2) Support the Protect America's Workforce Act HR2550 a bipartisan bill to rescind Executive Order 14251 and restores federal workers right to collectively bargain.
3) Move to discharge HR2550 by signing Discharge Petition #6 to bring HR2550 to the House floor.
Letter #2 by BT (Impeachment for Senators)
Dear Senator
I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the ongoing actions of Donald Trump. I urge you to support the removal of Trump by whatever means necessary due to his egregious violations of the Constitution and a blatant disregard for the rule of law.
Impeachment is not a step to be taken lightly, but the gravity of Trump’s actions demands accountability. The integrity of our democracy depends on the courage of our elected officials to uphold the Constitution and defend the rights of all citizens.
As your constituent, I implore you to lead with principle and act in the interest of justice and constitutional order.
I look forward to your response and to seeing you stand on the right side of history.
Sincerely,
